Genre: Rap Period: `90s, 2000s
Biography:
Milwaukee rapper Coo Coo Cal mixes Midwestern slang with the unmistakable sound of South-inspired beats, resulting in a style that mixes a number of hip-hop influences together as one, as evidenced by 1999`s Walkin` Dead and 2001`s Disturbed, the latter of which was his first for the Tommy Boy label and featured a trade-off with Chicago rapper Twista on the track "We Ride." Coo Coo Cal deals with the expected hip-hop subject matter (everyday life and struggles within the inner city), but injects his own personality into the proceedings to create his own hip-hop style.
